High Valley!

We went to Boise over the 4th of July weekend and spent most of the time up at High Valley at a Family Reunion. I left my camera in Boise so my wonderful mother mailed t back to me which is why this post if so late!

This is the beautiful land that my Uncle Miles owns.

Katie, Kelsey and Garrett on the four wheeler. Keep in mind we had been camping!

I can't tell you who had more fun camping, Garrett or his Dad, but they both loved to ride all the motorcycles that my Uncles own. Garrett would beg Grant to take him!
This is my cousin Bethany and Garrett. She was able to take leave from the NAVY and spend the weekend with us. We even managed to get a good picture with his Navy T on.

We snapped a few pictures of Garrett and his cousin Kiley after we got back home on the 4th. They had so much fun playing together and wrestling trees and picking wildflowers. They are quickly becoming little buddies.
And of course we couldn't have the 4th without some fireworks. Garrett loved it. Be kind we just got back from camping so no shower and no makeup! We had a great time and can't wait for the next reunion in August!

These boots were made for walking!

We are long over due for an update! But first I had to post these pictures of Garrett. He wanted to wear his work boots just like Dad last night and as you can see we are in the beginning stages of potty training so this is usually what we sport around the house. Not we, Garrett! Anyway Garrett is growing so fast and so am I. I'm just heading into the 8th month of this pregnancy and getting more and more excited.
Since I last posted we had a wonderful Memorial day, a baby shower for Alesa, a trip to Utah for my other sister-in-law Jennifer's baby shower, lots of swimming in Jackson, and playing at the park now that the sun has decided to come out. We're heading to Boise for the 4th of July for a family reunion so I promise to take lots of pictures and keep our blog a little more up to date! Have a Great Independence Day!

Summer is HERE!

Grant has been fighting me every summer since Garrett was born on the summer butch job and this year he finally won. I let him cut Garrett's hair but I wasn't very happy about the whole situation. It made it even worse with Garrett sitting on the bar stool crying because his hair was falling on the ground. In the end we all survived and I have to admit he looks pretty cute or so grown up. Here's the BEFORE....

And the AFTER!

Grant also requested that I take pictures of both of them since Grant was giving himself a haircut as well. Garrett is really into making funny faces in pictures.

My silly boys!

And last but not least a silly family picture. We're ready for summer now!

We're having a .....

GIRL!!! We are so excited and Garrett is excited to have a little baby sista! I had my 20 week ultrasound on Friday and we took the classic belly shot which we never did with Garrett and you can see why. Grant never takes pictures and when he does he just hurries and takes it. So since I don't have editing software, you get to see the entire extended family of the couple we are house sitting for and the very attractive dog food. As well as the belly! So it's a girl and we couldn't be happier. It's getting warm and the snow is melting, I am past the morning sickness and I'm going to have a little girl. Life is good!

It's getting a little warmer!

We've had a few nice days the past couple weeks. It's actually reached the mid 50's!!!! That's warm to us. In fact Garrett kept telling me, "Oh mom it's warm outside!" So we started off a nice warm day learning to water color. Garrett loved every moment of it. His favorite color is green can you tell? After we water colored for a few hours we enjoyed a nice green Popsicle outside in the sunshine. I didn't realize how cold it looks outside until after we took these pictures. You'd think we were crazy sitting outside with the snow all around us eating a popsicle but as Garrett says It's WARM!

Mexico!

My dear friend Candace just informed me that she is taking an amazing trip to Cancun. Not only are they staying at an all inclusive resort but they got a steal on the the whole trip. So of course I'm a little jealous of the fact that she'll be lounging on the beach and soaking up the sun. But as promised I'm posting a few pictures of our recent trip to Mexico to get her excited. Just ignore the fact that I look awful. I was feeling a little pregnant but good news I'm feeling a little better. Now if we could just kick these colds we'd be great! So enjoy the pics and feel free to be jealous of the amazing ruins and beautiful sites we saw.

We saw some amazing waterfalls down south just outside of Palenque. The road up through the mountains made everybody sick but the falls were amazing and so worth it.

These are another set of falls a few miles further up the mountain. A beautiful view from the top and bottum. Unlike in the U.S. they don't have any guard rails or stairs or bridges for that matter. People were basically climbing everywhere to take pictures. Lorin, my father-in-law, liked to remind us that in Mexico you have to use common sense.

Thayne, Jennifer, Grant an dI riding the rails while touring a Hacienda (plantation) where henica was and produced

I can't post about our trip to Mexico without a picture of mangos. You can tell in the picture these mangoes are cut all fancy. Some are sprinkled with chili powder. Grant lived off mangos while on his mission in Mexico so he made up for lost time while we were there and tried to eat as many as he could.

The last three pictures are of the beautiful ruins in Palenque. They are amazing and the history was fascinating. Right as we were done with our tour is poured. It was my first time experience a true jungle downpour. The best part was that, I being the wife of a frugal man, decided we should ask the hotel for some garbage bags to use in case of rain. I knew they would come in handy. I wish I had a picture I'll have to steal one from my mother-in-law. Just imagine 5 Americans walking around in huge black garbage bags. It was awesome! P.S. I have to give Grant credit for the picture above. He had to climb all the way to the top of this ruin to get this picture.

We took many more pictures and saw such wonderful sites. We had a great time but we'd plan better next time and go when I'm not pregnant.

Alive and Pregnant!

I know it's been forever since I've posted anything. I do have a good excuse. I'm pregnant!!! As you can tell from the picture below. I'm about 14 weeks and have been very sick. So for the past two months with the exception of an amazing Mexico trip(I'll post about that soon) we've been sitting at home just trying to make it. Grant thought for sure we were having twin girls since I wasn't sick at all with Garrett but were just having one and it will be interesting to see if it's a boy or girl. So that's our life and we're hoping things will be back to normal here in about a week and then I might even post some pictures of our AMAZING Garrett who is growing so fast! He tells me often these days that I'm amazing. When I tell him he's amazing he says no mom, I'm Garrett! So we are alive and doing great and so happy for a new addition to our family! We'll keep you updated.

Alright I just had to add this picture of Garrett just to prove how amazing he is. And yes that is Desitin.
