Grateful for just a broken arm!

We've had an eventful past two weeks. Last Wednesday Garrett fell off the couch and broke his elbow in two places and had to have surgery to get a couple pins put in. It was quite the traumatic incident. I think it was harder on me than Garrett. He hated the hospital but as soon as we left he was pretty happy. He's been so good about it. So it's been crazy but we are surviving and I feel blessed that it's only a broken arm, we can deal with a broken arm.

Our little guy coming out of surgery still out of it.
Keep in mind I hadn't showered that morning since I was planning to clean the house and we left for the hospital so fast I didn't even have socks on!
Drinking water. Poor little boy was so thirsty. Here's a more recent picture. You can tell how huge his cast is. He has to wear huge clothes that his arm can fit in.

So a week after this incident we loaded up and headed to Boise for Thanksgiving. We started off the day with a sweet Turkey Bowl game. The Gray team won of course!! It was so much fun and then my wonderful brothers cooked the most delicious Thanksgiving Dinner. Yeah for Talented chefs! It was so much fun and Garrett loved being at Grandma's house and playing with cousin Kiley! Oh we are so grateful for loving family and for our cute little one armed boy!

We all made shirts this year! Look how short I am. What has happened. Katie and Kelsey are sure growing up.

The winning gray team! I was trying to look tough but that didn't happen.

The Thanksgiving spread! My favorite part of this picture is all the dishes in the background. I should have taken a total of how many loads of dishes my amazing mother did.

See those green beans they were one of the best part. They were petite greens beans with bacon and an Alfredo sauce. A-mazing! When the Hanson family cooks we really cook. Garrett and Kiley hanging out while we played the football game. Thanks mom for being such a wonderful Grandma!

That is so traumatic. However, I think the toddler in a cast picture is priceless...as long as he is happy and not suffering. He will love that picture forever.

Tiff I can't imagine how hard it would be to send my little boy into surgery! What a crazy week you've had, but I'm glad he's doing okay now!

we did almost the exact same thing with Nicole shortly after she turned two. the pictures brought back sooo many memories (including her dressed in her brothers clothes because it was all that fit over the huge pink cast). glad he is ok...good luck with the rest of the process and don't forget to keep the pins!!
